====================================================== MPC Gram ======================================================= Series 001 Number 91 Aug 19, 2000 News and Views Yesterday I started making a list of items to discuss in the Gram. Darn, I am not sure that daily is often enough, but an hourly gram is just too much. Perhaps we can eventually get guys in 24 times zones to publish daily grams so that we can have one every hour! I will never get everything in the gram that is happening. There is just so much going on, it is wonderful. Last night there was some discussion about reaching a milestone with 90 grams. David S. pointed out that a pound is 454 grams. We have a way to go for a pound of grams! Certainly we should make it in 2001, but can we make it in less than a year from now? That will be difficult. Chat was very good last night with lots of participants and some good ideas. One of these was about getting west coasters to participate in addition to Tom who is a regular. Kevin, we need you! What night should we try? Let's try for this coming monday and every monday to have a west coast chat. Heck, let's make it for 11pm eastern. Chat will start at 10, but the push for west coasters will be at 11pm. Of course we can change the night if need be. Let's also call it super chat night. Everyone should make special efforts to make chat on Mondays. The current edition of the IBNS Journal which just arrived is a virtual World War II Remembered supplement! It is just full of stuff of interest to grammers. Hm, can we win a grammy? Sounds like our annual awards should be grammies. Hm, for best letter to the editor, best complaint, best feature article, best news article, best convention coverage, best ebay find, even best classified ad. There is no end to the possiblities. Anyway, the cover story complete with COLOR illustrations is about the 691/701 MPC. Although there is not much in the article that you do not know, this article alone means that you should have a copy. Certainly it is now part of an MPC literature collection. This article also included an announcemet about the MPC gram and we have added three new subscribers so far and the journal has only been in the mail a few days. Two of the three are from Europe! Welcome new targets, er readers. Of course I suggest that everyone should be a member of the IBNS (International Bank Note Society). If you are not a member and would like to obtain a sample journal (specifically Vol 39 #2), well, I am not sure how to do it. Hopefully Joe or Steve who are both officers will respond with instructions on how to obtain a copy. I will comment later about other important information in this wonderful issue. ======================================================== Mail Call Your letters wanted. ==================================================== Calendar September 14-17 Strasburg, PA, Annual Paper Money Show.
