Hello, Well I continue to get confused. The following gram was sent out only about 15 minutes ago as gram 39. One of the stories mentioned therein described how I could not find something. Well, the reason that I could not find it because it was in gram 39 which was "lost." Of course as soon as I then crated a "new" number 39, I found the original. So I decided to make it more confusing by trying to correct the situation! I will leave the redundant report of the stolen replacement in this replacement gram. The easiest way to handle this is probably to just delete the second gram 39 that you recieved which should have arrived only shortly before this one. Sorry about the confusion. The following is a complete retransmission of the item sent previously (and erroneously) as MPC gram 39. Seven days till Memphis! Everyone is getting excited. Well most everyone, I am not becuase I cannot imagine how I can get the necessary work done in time. Guess I will just give up on it so that I can get excited too! I missed yesterday's gram because of the pressures of the above work and negligence! Then I got sick last night. Surprised me because I do not get sick often, but I was really sick. Got some mircale drugs and seem to be getting over it. I cannot remmeber all of the topics that I had planned for this issue, but can touch on a few things. I think that starting after Memphis, we will try reserving Thursday evening each week for a scheduled subject on mpc chat. Ideally, we can arrange for a special visitor on these Tursdays. Even regulars might step up a be a special visitor on a scheduled night to discuss a special topic. I am working on a list and will welcome your general thoughts and specific recomendations. I thought I had reported the following item in one of the past few grams, but I just reviewed them and cannot find it. So at the risk of duplication here is sad news item. The following MPC replacement was stolen from John Yassik at the January FUN Show. A few hours before it was stolen, he had given me the note so that I could record the serial number. The next morning he asked me for the number because it had been stolen. I was more than a little mortified when I could not find where I had recorded the info. I found the notation in the past few days. Today Leo May sent me John's email address and asked that I send John the gram which is what made me think of this again. So, now I can kill several birds here by telling (or repeating to) everyone about the stolen note and giving John the number too (as well as welcoming him to the gram). The stolen note is a Series 641 $10 in very fine condition SN J00455901 pos 7. It goes without saying that we should watch for this note including on ebay and the other electronic auctions. (John, sorry that it took me so long, I felt REALLY bad about it). The theft was accomplished by a classic switch operation when John was not at the table (it was attended by a non numismatist assistant). I will be on the road for the next three days on a buying mission. I will try to give some reports from the road. My cell phone should be able to reach me at most times and places. I do not publish this for the obvious reasons, but am please for gramers to have it. Feel free to call me at (419) 349-1872. I am not so sure how well the message function works when I am out of the home area, so please do not count on that! Have a great day!
