======================================================= MPC Gram ====================================================== Vol 1 Number 48 June 17, 2000 News and Views I am preparing this gram on Friday night while I wait for the MPC to come up in the auction and for someone to show up on chat. Just had dinner with Ian Marshall, Joe Boling, and Harold Kroll. Of course we told a lot of MPC stories and a few lies too I suspect. I hope that I can remember some of these for future grams. When you have a little time, look up lire Allied Military currency in World War II Remembered. One of the interesting notations therein is about a few sets that are known with matching serial numbers. These were found a few years ago. Well, perhaps more than a few years ago. Anyway, a few sets are known. It is particularly interesting that they were not all uncovered at the same time. After the first one was found and reported, a second report was generated and so forth. I do not have the book here and I do not remember which ones have been reported, but a new set has been found. This one is serial number 65. You may want to mark this in your book. I did not see it, but Ian Marshall saw it and reported it. This is another wonderful find. I love it. Congratulations everyone! The auction just finished a little while ago (well, quite a while ago). The so-called major error did not sell. I was afraid that some unspecting mail bidder would get stuck with it, but we seem to be smarter as a group than people might think. Other items were mixed. The CU 692 $5 went high at over 400 but the groups of replacements went rather low. It was quite late when the MPC came up which did not help the sale I suspect. Saturday is always a very buCU day here. I am exhausted and excited about the prospects! I do not know about chat for Saturday night. I was on early then late here without finding anyone, sorry I missed you if you were on chat. Perhaps I will see you tomorrow! Have a great day. ======================================================= Letters We need your letters for publication in this section. I am preparing this gram on Friday night while I wait for the MPC to come up in the auction and for someone to show up on chat.

Just had dinner with Ian Marshall, Joe Boling, and Harold Kroll. Of course we told a lot of MPC stories and a few lies too I suspect. I hope that I can remember some of these for future grams.
