It is over. In a flurry of activity the AMC 1 yen BEP replacement that has been the center of so much speculation for the past week has been sold at a record priceof $2575. Collector MPCKid had a come from behind victory and withstood a furious charge in the last 20 seconds!

It was exciting to watch! MPC Chat took a virtual timeout to watch the action. As the moments ticked away a few side bets were made but mostly everyone was just excited.

Immediately after the auction in an exclusive Gram interview the Kid said that he was breathless. He also noted that he had jumped into a new area of collecting with "both feet as usual."


He was also heard to have said something about following the rules. This comment refers to an inside joke between the kid and your editor. It is our opinion that if a collector owns a great note (especially a replacement) like this one, the collector is honor bound to collect that are seriously!
