Steve Swoish, founder and CEO, announced today that the service has been created to fullfill a demand that he has seen developing for properly graded and encapsulated material. Unlike other grading services that have eveolved into including military notes among types services, Swoish states that militaray notes will be the backbone of the service. As of today the service is grading military payment certificates and AAFES pogs. MPC graded by the service will be recorded in the papermoneyworld database. POGS graded will be given serial numbers that will permanantly applied by a secret process and will be visible only with a special viewing device. The grading service holders are going to include the best features of existing holders and introduce new features. The holders will be completely inert to protect the notes. They will also be perfectly transparent and very rigid to further protect the notes. They will also be extremly thin allowing the special sensation of touch. In another innovation, customers are encouraged to pay for their serivces with MPC or POGS. Inquiries to the Professional Official Grading Service (POGS) should be addressed to POGSforever@pognetwork.pog. *********************************************************** Championship Question Corner Question: What watermark varieties are found on the States of Jersey World War II notes? Still, Spring will not be held back. The boss marked the change by taking down the Christmass tree (really--that should get the neighbors talking again). The turn of Spring means that the big summer events are not far behind: Memphis, ANA convention and of course the Summer seminar. They will all be great events and we hope to see you there. The interesting announcement by Steve Swoish will likely be one of those that will be talked about for many years to come. We must wish Steve good luck with his POGS enterprise. ========================================== Mail Call =========================================== Dear Gram miester Fred, Joe's comment on raised notes brings a couple of questions to mind. He (Joe) asks "why would someone cobble together pieces of two different notes in such a fashion? Well my questions to Joe are (I already know the answer to some) Did you buy the note? What was the asking price? I know that it doesn't have any position number and, hence no number 8. So I seriously doubt that he bought it. And a 521 dime isn't even on his want list anymore. But he DID look it over pretty well. He even recorded the serial numbers of BOTH sides. So my next question is, What is the Emperor of Japan / Saint Eligius doing looking at MPC in a junk book for? Huh Joe? It would seem pretty obvious to me why someone would "cobble" this note together. It's so somebody might BUY the darn thing of course! Hell, even if it didn't get sold, it caught the attention of one of the worlds most esteemed numismatists. And probably kept him entertained for the better part of the hour! It even prompted him to write an article about it! Holy Cow, it sounds like a bargain at twice the asking price! It's just to bad that we don't have a web link so we could all enjoy it. Man, that was almost as much fun as watching Fred bowl !! Keep up the good work guys. :-) 21 Dear Gramsters......As per my duplicate MPC's 4 sale (1000+ notes) and only selling a few!...........the "question" most ask is "what nice car cost $10k? ".......answer......the partial down payment on a "Z06" 5.7 L 405+ HP 190/200 MPH Silver -" Corvette" - eats gas like MPC eats money......Now I can go real fast between lights!. OR on the way to Vegas!..........well. ...Thanks for your inquires Guy Dear Guy, Sounds to me like you and that vet could make a fast trip to Fest8.
