Rumors had swirled at the seminar of pending major changes throughout the week. As of this time details as to reason etc have not been announced. ********************************************************** Championship Question Corner Question: 2006 marked how many summer seminars and how many summer seminars with a military numismatics class? Question 134, difficulty 3. Yesterday's Question: How does Kaukera fit into our studies? Question 133, difficulty 3. Comments from the field: Kathy Myers reports: Kaukera was a native hero in Guadeloupe who appeared on the WWII E A Wright Guadloupe 1000 franc notes. ========================================== Editorial ========================================== The announcement of the reduction of the summer seminar from two weeks to one stunned me this morning. My first reaction and overall reaction is sadness. The unstated, but implied and apparant reason has to do with expense of running the seminar. I will restrain from further comment at this moment pending releasse (hopefully) of more details and the even fainter hope that we have the information wrong. ========================================== Mail Call =========================================== Dear Gram, Gramsters would be proud (more likely amazed) of Fred’s presentation in my intro to paper money class Wed. Of course he spoke about military payment certificates. He finished within TWO minutes of the scheduled time! I was dumfounded. Wendell  Dear Gram, Kaukera does not fit into our studies - but Karukera does.   I fail to see how discussion of ANY coin replies to the question you said had been posed yesterday - namely one about bond denominations that had also appeared earlier.  Finally, you have now printed Jim Downey's letter about Mar-Matic tokens three times and David Seelye's letter about new MFC issues twice. When are you going to get a secretary for the gram? Joe Greetings One of those WWII dogs, whose name I've now forgotten, but a nonument photo I'll get in due time (Email me off line) cuhajg@yahoo.com, is interred in a road triangle at the military cemetery at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, Wis. George Cuhaj Dear Gram, I hope that all the gramsters that are attending the Seminar will make it to the Colorado Springs Coin Show this coming weekend. As usual I will have quite a number of World War II related paper items including concentration camp money and WWII Ration coupons from Europe. In addition Dick Horst and other dealers always have military related items in stock. Bill Rosenblum Dear Bill, There has also been talk of a mini seminar at the show (as is traditional). Although I know of no such plans, I expect that a mini Fest will break out at 1400 hrs somewhere in the common areas of the show.
