Although we do not have all of the details, nominations may be submitted in an informal letter format by writing Brunner@money.org. Military Seminar Student Cops Top Award Sam Spiegel won the prestegious YN Best of Show Award at the Denver ANA Convention. The award was made at the Saturday night banquet. Spiegel was a military numismatics student at a ANA summer seminar (2004, 03?). Unfortunately, the exhibit was not on a direct military numismatic topic--ancient coins. Of course many ancient coins have a military numismatics connection, but that was not at all the thrust of the exhibit. Nonetheless, Sam is a member of the community. ***************************************************** Championship Question Corner Question: In what year was the first MPCFest challenge coin issued? You will recall that I gave one of these notes to the representative of the French mint. He was most intersted in it. Well, today I passed the mint again. The little note that I had given to the fellow was prominently displayed in one of the mint display cases. I was most pleased. There is still more. This evening at the banquet I had a discussion with another person from the French mint. I asked her if she saw the note. Her eyes blazed with excitement. I have promissed to send her a note. ========================================= Mail Call =========================================== Dear Gram, Jim Downey's discussion of the OSS plot to send currency into Germany was very interesting.
