Great Item for Fest, Seminar
By Marcus Turner
For the second year in a row, that unidentified benefactor known to collectors only as Mr. 691 has made an interesting—and generous donation to the MPC/ANA Seminar.
The donation is a Series 691 $1. Routine you say? Of course four years ago and 691 note would have been spectacular. Now it might seem routine—until you look at it. This example is serial number D00900000D!
The note will be sold in the Fest auction with the entire proceeds going to the ANA Summer Seminar military money course scholarship fund.
Fest auctioneer Larry Smulczenski will have the note at CPMX for examination (lusting) by any and all who might be interested. Bids can be accepted from absentee bidders as well as those attending the Fest. This item is expected to be the top item in the Fest auction March 11.

George Fitzgerald has seen the light and decided to attend MPCFest III. His reservation moves Indiana into a first place tie with three Festers. However, it is with sadness that we also received the cancallation of Elmer Smith because of the illness of his wife. Because this is a medical absence, Elmer still counts in the state contest. The best wishes of all Festers go out to Elmer, his wife and family.

The Knight-May auction is only a few hours away. There is far more work (and driving) to do than hours before the sale, but it is exciting nonetheless.
Ski arrived at Gram HQ on Tuesday night. We will be driving together on Thur morning. We look forward to seeing many Gramsters and Festers at the first big event of the fortnight. We will try to send out a Gram immediately after the auction with commentary, highlights and possibly a full list of prices realized.

Mail Call
----------------------------------------------
Dear Editor and Festers,
My regrets in not being able to attend the Fest. Please tell everyone hello and I wish I was there. Please put me on the list for Fest IV (am I the first to register?). I am taking delivery of a new $25 million dollar jet and I have to be there to finish up the final details. (Not my jet, the company's)
Bill McNease
Dear Bill,
It seems to me that you have your priorities seriously out of whack. You could buy a lot of MPC for $25 mil, or even $20 mil! Next year we expect you to drive this big new bird to the Fest! Till next year you are in the AWOL category! However, we have entered your reservation for next year!

Hot Contact List
Below is the BNR Press Hot Contact List. This list serves several functions. Obviously it is an outreach by the dealers listed for your business. Most of them buy and sell MPC. Others organize shows or publish periodicals. They have supported the new Comprehensive Catalog of Military Payment Certificates with their advertising. They deserve your support and patronage.
Secondly, this is a draft from the book that participating dealers should check for correctness. Finally, dealers who are not on it and want to can still get their ads in if they act promptly. Respond to this email or call (419) 732-6683.
We are sorry if the format is a little messed up here in the Gram, we are not sure of how to fix it!
