The exact scope of the exhibit has not been decided. The main purpose of sharing the information at this time was to solicit the participation of Gramsters in the project! The exhibit will open on November 8, 2002 in conjunction with Veteran’s Day observances and will continue through the 2003 summer seminar. Sidman Likes Seminar By E. A. Right Numismatic News reporters Ray Sidman reports in a front page story of the July 23 issue that “Students Love Seminar.” Sidman was a student in the military money course. It is not likely that he knew what he was getting into! In addition to an accurate, interesting, and fun filled account of the entire seminar, Sidman describes his experiences in class. Here is how he describes Boling and Schwan: “Boling gave the level-headed side of he presentation with a twist of humor, specifically in the areas of World War II and international military currencies. Schwan also proved himself a fount of knowledge, albeit a frenzied and unpredictable one (think Old Faithful with no timetable and a caffeine overdose). Its safe to say the 11 students enjoyed both the instructors’ classroom savvy.” The story is accompanied by color illustrations of Fest money issued at the event, Schwan and Boling in action as well as some of the students. ============================================== Editorial ============================================== The forthcoming museum exhibit is an important opportunity for us to showcase our hobby. Indeed, it may be the most significant chance that we have had in decades or ever. I believe that we should throw our support into the project 100%. We can lend ideas, material, financial support (gad!), and possibly most importantly of all our time and energy by visiting the exhibition and promoting others to do the same. I believe that we should have a Fest event in Colorado Springs either in conjunction with the opening, or very shortly thereafter. Larry Lee and other staff members have stated that they will be happy to help us in any way that they can. I have many more ideas long this line, but the museum needs your ideas so put on your thinking caps and send your idea here to the Gram for publication and coordination. ---- We were certainly pleased to read Ray Sidman's account of the ANA Seminar.
