From: "MPCgram" To: Subject: MPCGram 829 Date: Friday, January 17, 2003 2:57 PM =========================================== MPC GRAM =========================================== Covering the entire World of Military Numismatics Series 004 - Number 829 Friday January 17, 2003 Vietnam War Remembered Reference by Howard A. Daniel III Awhile ago, I started a discussion here about having a Vietnam War Remembered like the WWII Remembered reference. I received some input from a couple of Gramsters and stored it in a file along with some of my information and planned to update it on a periodic basis. While at the FUN Show in Orlando this past week, I ran into Ray Bows again and his significant other, Pia Problemi. She is a wonderful woman and better than Ray deserves, but I guess you could say that about most of us and our significant others. While Ray was away making a deal to buy and/or sell something, I was looking through his stock with Pia. When he returned, we somehow started talking about references, and it popped out of him that he was working on another Vietnam War reference, but much more expanded than his first. This is exactly what was proposed for the Vietnam War Remembered book, and I hope he will use the title. And that someone uses Korean War Remembered too! If you do not know him, Ray is a retired Army Master Sergeant (like myself) and we were numismatists when we were on active duty and during our tours in Viet Nam and elsewhere. His address is now 205 Meadow Lake Drive, Edgewater, FL 32141 and his email is NamLore@hotmail.com. I am sending my information and/or illustrations to him for his Vietnam War Remembered reference, and I hope you do the same. He has requested me to have him added to the MPCGram email list and I hope he periodically writes an item and/or letter to the MPCGram to keep us informed on the progress of his work. Ray also has a LOT of military-oriented stock and I hope he lists some of it for sale in the MPCGram too. I do not know if Ray has any more of his Vietnam Military Lore 1959-1973 references, but if you do not have it in your library and collect this material, you need it because it has information in it that is not in any other reference. I am looking forward to Ray and you working together on Vietnam War Remembered. Lets get to it! ------------------------------------------------- Marcus Turner Win's At Fun For all Who have never seen a winning Display at a show I have been able to coerce marcus in to allowing me to post the pictures of his display on the web site papermoneyworld.net/grams/800-899/marcus.htm Congrats to marcus ******************************************************* Sick call ******************************************************* As of last chat with Fred, Judy may be getting out of the hospital tomorrow And Fred says thanks a lot from everybody.
