Original Works class: Shame on you. He would have gone to see you. There were other performances that I will say nothing about, because I know Joe will post something about them. This is a review for Joe Boling. My God! It was funny as &%*#. If you think that the 400+ shows he sees a year is a good example of his obsessive compulsive disorder, you aint seen nothin' yet. I don't want to get into specifics here, because he needs to perform it at the Fringe or something (and when you see him, tell him you want that to happen, trust me, you do). He discusses the Boy Scouts, the Army, numismatics, theater, the books he's written, cookies, and the myriad other things that fill the 19 waking hours of a man with OCD (actually, I think he calculated that he gets 5 hours and 16 minutes of sleep per night). If you like Joe, this show will make you love him. If you think he's a little scary, well, get ready for some serious fear. If you don't believe me, ask Rob West. He was sitting a couple of rows in front of me, and I saw him have no less than 3 orgasms in the 25 minutes that the show took. Oh! I almost forgot. There were props. Joe Boling as a prop comic! I'm telling you people, make him perform this elsewhere. You won't regret it. Afterword by the reviewer: You will get your opportunity to see him do this. There are too many people interested in seeing it at this point. So based on peer pressure alone, he will have no choice. =========================================== Editorial =========================================== If you have not figured out the above review, it is of Joe Boling?s performance as Joe Boling. Theater is one of Joe?s other passions. You will not believe this one. Well, perhaps you will. I received a call today from a Fester who received a check from me at the Fest. He said that the check had bounced. I did not think that that was possible?especially after I examined the account on line. Off to the bank I went (not the same bank that would not sell me an HH bond, by the way). I print my own checks. It saves money and I like doing it. For the Fest I went all out. I created checks in the name of the Fest Auction Account with the Holiday Inn Express as the address. The final touch was that the checks were payable in military fest certificates. It seems that since 9-11 banks have some new regulations about examining checks. This one met a threshold for amount that required examination. It seems that the check violated all kinds of rules as to the name on the account etc., the the payment in MILITARY fest certificates really set them off! That check and another did not bounce but were returned with the notation ?refer to maker (me).? The bank has promised not to return any of the others that have this text, but I cannot be sure for awhile. For now, I want to get those two checks for the archives!
